Monday Club

Monday Date for Fenprobe Duo

Maureen Fresco and Janet Smith gave a talk on Monday, 16th February to a large group of members at the St. Mary's Monday Club.  Maureen spoke about the launch of Fenprobe in 1978 and charted its progress until 2010. Janet then took over, describing a series of upheavals in 2010 and 2011 which saw changes in the hours we could use the studio and the digital changeover from cassette recording.  This had led to a more streamlined organisation and had definitely improved the listening experience for our members.  They had more news and the sound was clearer.  She paid tribute to the dedicated forty plus volunteers who produced tapes for fifty one out of the fifty two weeks each year.  The current weeks news recording was played on the memory stick player.  This included a tribute to Mary Howell, the first Chairman, who died in January.
The club's Chairman, Anne-Marie Barfield, presented Maureen and Janet with a donation from the club and the meeting was rounded off with a superb selection of cakes, tea and coffee.  A big thank you to the club who made our visit very enjoyable.
