Joan Saberton Donation Gratefully Received

We have received from the family and friends of Mrs. Joan Saberton, a cheque for £267.00, donated in her memory.  This is a truly wonderful gift from a listener who so enjoyed receiving the Fenprobe news each week that her daughter, Mrs. Cynthia Parsons,  arranged two fishing matches to raise funds for us in her lifetime and now we have this last "thank you" and we are, in return, most grateful.Joan was an amazingly feisty lady. Last year when I met her, she recalled the previous year's Jubilee celebrations.  Her house won the village best decorated Jubilee contest.  Then in her 97th year, she leapt to her feet and holding her still decorated red, white and blue stick aloft, she sang "Here we go, here go, here we go", a wonderful moment which I wished I had captured on film.  She lived a fulfilling life and we know her family and friends will miss her very much.

As a charity, which only exists with the help of grants and listener donations, all our listeners to the news have the opportunity to make sure that other blind and partially sighted people will continue to benefit from the Fenprobe service.  When the time comes, we would so appreciate being remembered in your will.  It would be a lifeline for a lifeline, as Fenprobe is so often described.
