Ely Northwold WI gives Fenprobe's Secretary a big surprise

When Janet Smith gave a talk about the work and history of Fenprobe Talking News she was unprepared for a presentation at the end.
Opening a card presented by the Chairman, Mrs June Bevan and committee member Mrs Barbara Kippax, she was completely overcome as she unfolded the cheque inside made out for £100. Members had previously held a Bring and Buy event in aid of Fenprobe and the WI had rounded up the money raised.
Janet said she could only say thank you to this amazing gift for the funds. To give an example, the money could buy three players, which are supplied free of charge to listeners or pay two months rent for their premises at Bedford House in Ely.
On behalf of the Chairman, committee and listeners, she thanked all the members of Northwold WI for their great generosity.
